SWFTR

CLARIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP STATUS & APPLICATION

     Non-members:  Receive free SWFTR e-newsletter which includes race calendar.  Those entering races often receive the benefit of SWFTR involvement in enhancing the local races via any or all of the following:  Finish line clock; SWFTR bib numbers; Publicity; Race directing advice from SWFTR leadership; Assistance with race course certification; Distribution of race results when provided to SWFTR Newsletter; Race info on the SWFTR.com website and the SWFTR Facebook pages.

      Race Directors:  Receive free SWFTR Membership and are encouraged to offer a SWFTR discount to SWFTR members; May request the use of the SWFTR finish line clock for their event; May receive some assistance from SWFTR in getting their race course certified; May request the use of SWFTR bib numbers; Receive the benefit of "word of mouse" advertising in the SWFTR newsletter which reaches approximately 350-400 readers and growing; Publicity on the SWFTR.com website and the SWFTR Facebook pages; May also solicit race directing advice from SWFTR leadership;  Distribution of the race results if provided to the SWFTR newsletter.

     SWFTR Members:  In addition to receiving the SWFTR Newsletter, and enjoying the enhancements to area races that SWFTR provides, receive the following additional membership benefits:

     SWFTR discounts:  Save on entry fees at many area races.  Varies from $1 to $15 (Two in particular have discounts that equal the $15 cost of SWFTR individual annual membership -- the Beef Empire Days/Hoof it to Health runs and the Family Scramble, both sponsored by the Garden City Family YMCA.  Their discount is also provided to GC-YMCA members). 

      Annual drawing:  Each SWFTR member attending the annual banquet is given a ticket for each area race completed and/or directed.  The grand prize in the drawing is a Garmin GPS runner’s watch.  Bonus tickets are added for races with a SWFTR discount and/or are on a certified course.

     Voting/Holding office:  SWFTR members vote in the elections at the annual SWFTR Banquet and are eligible to hold office.

      Membership Dues:  Free for area race directors to encourage them to give SWFTR discounts and to thank those who do.  Without race directors, we wouldn't have any races.  Others can become members by paying annual dues of $15/individual or $25/family.

Yearly Memberships: Individual $15,  Family $25, Student $10 and 65 & Over $10

Lifetime Memberships : Individual $150, Family $250, and Senior $100
